A steam engine crashed into a house in Great Dunmow, causing structural damage.
Police were called to the collision in Market Place shortly before 4.30pm on Friday, April 21.
Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.
No injuries were reported. The building was left in the hands of structural engineers for assessment, and debris was collected from the road.
Several witnesses said they saw the engine "having issues" on Chelmsford Road before the collision, with "steam and smoke coming out of the bottom".
