Affinity Water will be carrying out works in Stansted Mountfitchet to install two new sections of water mains.
The sections will be installed by Affinity Water's contractor, J Browne Construction Ltd, between Forest Hall Road and Chapel Hill and from Forest Hall Road to Church Road.
The work aims to improve infrastructure to help continue supplying the community with drinking water.
Work will take place between September 18 this year and April 2024, with working hours from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm on Saturday and 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
The affected roads are Spencer Close, Chapel Hill, Silver Street, Pines Hill, Stansted Road, Forest Hall Road and Church Road.
To minimise the impact of the work, Affinity Water has been in touch with the highway authority and transport teams at Essex County Council.
There will be various phases of traffic control during the works, including traffic lights and road closures, with some traffic disruption expected at peak times - meaning you may need to allow some extra time for your journey.
Vehicle access to people's properties may be restricted during certain phases of the works, while pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout.
On-street signage will explain the exact location of traffic management and road closures.

Residents' water supplies may also be affected during the work. If you are affected, Affinity Water will post a card through your door and contact you in advance if there will be any interruptions. You may also notice a slight change in your water pressure at times.
To minimise noise during stated working hours, Affinity Water has a 'non idle' policy where machinery will not be left running for extended periods when not actively in use.
