People living in Takeley have raised concerns about a row of 'dangerous' parked cars, after a boy was injured by a vehicle.

Cars park along the B1256, after the Birchanger Green roundabout and before the Silver Jubilee Hall, causing an issue with residents have raised with both police and North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP).

Speaking on Wednesday, September 6, resident Janet Cleaves said: "Currently we have nearly 20 vehicles parked from the Silver Jubilee Hall down towards the Four Ashes crossroads.

"Yesterday a young boy was hit when a car mounted the kerb and is currently being operated on in Harlow Hospital. He's lucky to be alive."

Police confirmed they were called shortly before 3.50pm on Tuesday, September 5, to the collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

A teenage boy had suffered a serious leg injury, which was not life-threatening, and was taken to hospital.

Previously drivers have had issues turning from The Pastures without being on the wrong side of the road.

A spokesperson for North Essex Parking Partnership said: "Together with Uttlesford District Council, we will review the request for new parking restrictions at The Pastures, junction with the B1256, and update residents once a decision has been made."
