Funeral directors Daniel Robinson & Sons, who have a branch in Dunmow, raised a record £56,479 with their annual golf day.
The golf day took place on Wednesday, September 13 at Colne Valley Golf Club.
Funds will go towards helping children in the area with cerebral palsy, covering the cost of specialist private physiotherapy and equipment.
In addition to the six beneficiaries currently helped, two further children will be supported this year - two-year-old Willow and eight-year-old Louis.

Many Dunmow businesses contributed to the day, along with individual donations for the tombola.
Daniel Robinson & Sons managing director Gary Neill thanked everyone who took part, and said: "Every penny raised will go towards helping these very special and determined young children and teens."
