Crowds gathered to have fun and raise money for charity at this year's Great Dunmow Carnival.
Held at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, September 16, the festivities began with a carnival procession through the town.
Thousands of people were then entertained with live music, martial arts demonstrations, a funfair, stalls, food and drink stands and a fireworks display - as well as a free evening concert.
Afternoon entertainment included the Mayor of Great Dunmow and the Carnival Queens, with performances from the Great Dunmow Town Band, Kyokushinkai Karate Club, ROM Theatre Arts, the Dance Exclusive and Dunmow Theatre Group.
Performers during the evening included Solar Chain, Kimberley Hilton, Trina, The Noisy Neighbours and The Lackeys.
The event raises money for local charities, and this year's beneficiaries were the Fragile X Society, which supports people living with the genetic condition, and Dunmow Theatre Company.
Kate Jones - sales manager for Bellway Essex, which donated £450 towards the event - said: "This glorious fun-filled event brought the community together on a fantastic day of celebration and it was great to be able to help out.
