Great Dunmow is marking Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday this weekend with services and a parade.
The Armistice Day service will take place at 10.50am on Saturday, November 11 at the War Memorial, with a two-minute silence at 11am and the firing of the maroon.
On Remembrance Sunday - November 12 - Reverend Tom Warmington will lead a service at the War Memorial, with prayers and acts of remembrance.
The parade, made up of Great Dunmow Town Council, the Royal British Legion and uniformed services will march down High Street to the memorial at 10.45am.
They will arrive in time for the Last Post and a two-minute silence at 11am.
Wreaths will be placed at the War Memorial shortly afterwards, with the order announced by town crier Jody Huizar.
Those placing wreaths include Deputy Lieutenant of Essex Vincent Thompson, Great Dunmow Town Council, Uttlesford District Council, the ambulance service, the fire service, the 1st Dunmow Scout Group and Girl Guiding Association, the Rotary Club of Dunmow, the Great Dunmow Town Band, Helena Romanes School and more.
The final wreaths will be placed by members of the public.
The High Street will be closed before and during these events, and a diversion will be in place.
