Dunmow care home resident Hettie recently celebrated her 105th birthday with a visit from her family and the mayor.
Hettie, who lives at Croft House Care Home, was visited in the morning by her son Trevor, her granddaughter and three great-grandchildren, and her nephew Owen.
Angeline and Nicky, who work at the home, then took Hettie and her friend - fellow resident Alan - to the Axe & Compasses pub for her favourite lunch of roast beef and her daily tipple of sherry.
At the pub they were joined by Owen, his wife Ruth and friends that Hettie knew years ago.
Hettie then enjoyed a surprise afternoon tea at the home, where Mayor Alex Armstrong and Mayoress Jenny Armstrong presented her with flowers.
