Participants had to perform two cries of no less than 100 words and no more than 140 - one about their home town and one on a theme given by the organiser.

Town criers were marked for their accuracy, confidence, bearing, volume and clarity.

Jody said: "I came away having learnt a lot. I was so pleased to represent Great Dunmow and spread the word about our famous town."
