People living in Little Dunmow are invited to have their say on how a community building should be put to use.
Housebuilder Dandara is developing 160 homes and an 8.4 hectare area of public space in Little Dunmow, with construction beginning earlier this month.
As part of the project, a community building will be available at the site thanks to a collaboration between Dandara and Little Dunmow Parish Council.
The Little Dunmow Community Buildings Trust has been created by the parish council to work with Dandara on the requirements, design and build, and then will take over the running of the building upon completion.
The trust is now seeking input from the community on ideas for the building and suggestions for use of its facilities.
Members of the public are invited to share their views at a launch event on Thursday, July 4 between 9am and 6pm at Little Dunmow Recreation Ground.
A spokesperson for the trust said: "We are a small group of local residents, working with Dandara Eastern Ltd. to deliver a new community building on the Moor’s Field development.
"Your involvement is important to us. We need your help to develop ideas and achieve a community facility that we can all be proud of."
The building will offer 700 sqm of space, a coffee shop, exercise classes, a nursery for 56 children, function rooms for hire and electric vehicle charging.
Dandara's Orchard development on Moor's Field will offer a range of one to five-bedroom houses, featuring open plan living spaces, private gardens and sustainable features including air source heat pumps and water efficient fittings.

There will also be publicly accessible open space with a community orchard, a wildlife area and pedestrian and cycling paths connecting to the nearby Flitch Way Country Park.
John Baines, land and planning director for Dandara Eastern, said: "We have designed the development to prioritise connectivity through improved footway and cycleway connections to the Flitch Way and surrounding areas.
"We are also excited to partner with the Little Dunmow Parish Council to create the community building for the benefit of the local community."
