Villagers in Great Bardfield who oppose a planned 5G mast handed in their objections to Braintree District Council.
The 15m high mast would be erected on one of the village greens, and residents are concerned this would negatively impact the view and cause potential health risks, although Three UK has confirmed that 5G poses no more risks than any other mobile techology.

A Braintree District Council spokesperson said: "This is not a planning application, but a prior approval notification, which means our role is to consider if the application meets that criteria and therefore does not need planning permission, or whether it does not meet the criteria and therefore a planning permission would need to be sought.
"A decision is expected to be made shortly."
