Volunteers battled the heat to recycle tree guards at Old Park Meadow in Dunmow.
Employees of the Kingswood Group, Old Park Meadow and Essex Wildlife Trust took part in the trust's Tree Guard Recycling Scheme on Wednesday, August 23.
The team removed hundreds of plastic tree guards, with support from Collier & Catchpole and Tubex Tree Shelters, who provided the equipment.

Delyse Jackaman, manager of Old Park Meadow, said: "As a corporate member of the Essex Wildlife Trust, we wanted to come together with the other members to help preserve and protect our environment.
"We are able to make sure that the plastic used to protect the trees when they were first planted will not have a negative impact on the surrounding environment."
