Cashless payments are being rolled out across Uttlesford District Council's car parks as part of a planned programme of upgrades.
The council operates 10 pay-and-display car parks across the district, and started phasing out cash machines following an extended period of vandalism and theft in 2021.
They are being replaced with card machines - allowing users to pay for parking via credit or debit card, an app on their smart phone or via an automated telephone number.
All cash machines in the four council-managed car parks in Dunmow, as well as Crafton Green in Stansted and Swan Meadow and Rose & Crown in Saffron Walden, were upgraded in 2021.
The final phase of the roll-out will see the remaining few cash machines replaced, with work starting on Wednesday, December 6.
