Professional artist Philip Richardson will visit Dunmow Art Group to give a talk on Impressionism.
The talk - showing the movement through the eyes of an artist - will take place at Foakes Hall in Dunmow from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Wednesday, February 21.
The word impressionist is a description for any sketchy, colourful style of painting, yet the Impressionist movement - with artists such as Monet, Renoir and Manet - was a precise period in art history.

In his illustrated talk, Philip will address Impressionism with a capital 'I', when the movement began and why, and also when and why it ended.
Attendance is £1 for Dunmow Art Group members and £5 for non-members.
