Helena Romanes School in Dunmow welcomed Box Clever Theatre, who performed Shakespeare's famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
The theatre group performed to Gifted and Talented Key Stage 3 students and GCSE drama students on Thursday, February 8.
They performed the play with traverse staging, and used modern music and masks.

A spokesperson for Helena Romanes School said: "In the final dialogue Juliet nearly brought us to tears with her high pitched use of voice and slow pace dialogue - building tension as she screamed at the sight of her dead Romeo.
"It certainly was aspirational and we hope to get Box Clever in to perform again in the near future."
Box Clever spoke to pupils about the performing arts, and said their behaviour was "impeccable".
