Dunmow students who show talent in the performing arts can apply for a share of ROM Theatre Arts' £10k scholarship fund.
ROM Theatre Arts offers professional musical theatre training at diploma (16 plus) and degree (18 plus) level, with a course validated by the University of Chichester.
The performing arts school has £10,000 left in their scholarship fund, ready to be allocated to performers who show talent or promise.
Auditions are being held at the Arts Centre in Haslers Lane in Great Dunmow and online.
Student loans are still available through the Student Loans Company (SLC) for over-18s, regardless of scholarships offered.
A spokeswoman for ROM Theatre Arts said: "We know there are so many young people in the area who would love to get a diploma or degree qualification without having to travel to the bigger cities, not to mention the fact that they could be awarded a scholarship towards their tuition fees.
