Dunmow St Mary's Primary School has welcomed a new headteacher at the start of term.
Claire Kearney has joined the school following the retirement of the previous headteacher, and worked at her last school for 24 years where she was a head of school.
Mrs Kearney said: "I feel extremely honoured and privileged to have been chosen to build upon the success the school has already achieved and I am excited and enthusiastic to be leading the school into its next chapter."
Chair of governors Simon Carpenter added: "Claire has embraced the vision, values and ethos of our school since the beginning and we are looking forward to working with her to further develop the school and ensure our children continue to have the best experience."
