Livewire Rock Academy, the rock school in Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow, have donated £500 to Mencap's Grove Cottage.
The money was raised from a “rock raffle” at their recent two hour Livewire Rock Concert.
The show included junior students from the schools, and prizes for the raffle were donated by Marshall Amps, South Street Pantry, Uncle Funk’s Disco Inferno and Music On Vinyl Records.
Grove Cottage provides social and educational activities for people of all ages with a learning disability to develop their potential.
Livewire Rock Academy was established by Uncle Funk’s Disco Inferno frontman Simon Baker.
The schools teach electric guitar, bass and drums and play together every week.
