Two Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners claimed new club records at Sunday’s Virgin Money London Marathon.
Alistair Brown finished in two hours 42 minutes 57 seconds to break the club’s veteran 40+ record in 445th place while James Bosher set a new senior record when he crossed the finish line in 2:43:39 for 471st place.
Alistair said: “We were both in a start area which started over a minute late and we both had to pass around 4,000 people to both achieve our top 500 positions out of more than 40,000 competitors.”
In total the club had 10 runners in London and there were also personal best times for both Lee Pickering, who ran 3:18:18, and Charlotte King, who clocked a time of 3:47:29.
Dan Reynolds ran the 26.2 miles in 3:08:12 ahead of Claudine Davie (3:28:39), Simon King (3:42:13), Ian Lawson (3:50:20), Gillian Robertson (3:59:05) and Hayley Smith (4:06:40).
