Alfie Hammond is continuing to impress as his rallying career took him to Wales.
The 19-year-old from Great Dunmow is competing in the 2023 BTRDA rally championship with the latest round being the Rallynuts Stages rally in Mid Wales.
The rally was based at the Royal Welsh showground in Builth Wells and took in the forests of Myherin and Hafren as well as the sweet lamb complex, all previously used in the World Rally Championship.
This was Hammond's second outing on gravel in the Mysercough Motorsport Fiesta R2 and it proved an exceptional one, placing third in the junior R2 cup and 50th overall out of more than 100 entries that started the rally.
Hammond, who is part of the futures programme with the Motorsport UK Academy, said: "I felt my driving came on massively as the rally progressed and felt very settled in the car.
"I am very grateful to all who have and continue to support me, including lead sponsor Octane Partners."
Co-driver Phil Boyle, a senior lecturer in motorsport at Myerscough College added: "Alfie drove with increasing confidence as he got to grips with the car.
"This is a solid result for the championship year ahead."
